Hammer '86
A 7 track synth pop ep (36m 45s) — released September 11th 2015 on Shock World Service
Having sat undiscovered for 30 years in an attic in Dublin, Hammer is a synthwave record that has been likened to acts such as Hard Corps, Nitzer Ebb, Depeche Mode & Severed Heads and has received plaudits from DJs such as Trevor Jackson, JG Wilkes (Optimo), Philip Sherburne (Pitchfork), Veronica Vasicka (Minimal Wave) & Richard Sen.
Previously only available as a limited edition vinyl, the digital release comes with 7 tracks including mixes by JD Twitch (Optimo), 3 new remixes & the recently discovered 1986 dub version of the track.
The release has picked up lots of interst from collectors of rare synthwave/cold wave & rare electropop. In a similar vein to releases on labels such as Minimal Wave. Mannequin & Dark Enteries & releases such as the Cold Waves & Minimal Electronics compilations. As such the track is regularly played on shows such as Optmo's show Rinse FM, Debonair, Alien Jams & The Do You Show on NTS Radio.
